He seems to have stopped growing....thankfully LOL.

Just went out and got some new pictures of Rafe this afternoon while waiting on the storms to hit and measured him again. He is still standing at 14.2 and has been for 2 months. If I could just talk him into growing about 1 more hand, I would be happy LOL.

For those of you who notice the swelling on his right hind, he has a cut that he is currently getting shots for and hosed off every day. Crazy kid, still gets into everything.

And him with his orange punk rocker hairdo LOL.

And just fooling around yesterday, I decided to give him a haircut since it is easier to teach him this size rather than when he weighs 1500 lbs. He just stood there and fell asleep while I did it and he drops his head so low that I had to bend over to reach it. Oh, well. On something as big as he is going to be, better to drop it too low than not drop it at all.

WOW! He weighs more than Deja now! Would he be considered liver chestnut? He's going to be a nice looking boy.

Thanks. Greyshell, I personally wouldn't consider him a liver chestnut, just a chestnut. If he were more orangey like his mane, I would likely call him sorrel and if he were darker and closer to black, I would probably call him liver chestnut.

Thanks SUJ, I wish he would grow up already so I could go ahead and get him started LOL.

Fivefillies, he is going to be my next ranch, roping, cutting, trail, town, parade, anything else I need horse. If he takes to everything under saddle the way that he has everything on the ground, he should be a nice solid horse within about 60 days under saddle.

I just love him. He's so cute, and that orange mane just cracks me up!
