Horse herding in the snow :) *picture heavy*

    Yeah, I went to get the herd my horses are in yesterday ! It was loads of fun, and here are the pics;

Waiting to go into the "ring"

My little ones. I don´t think I'll ever be able to forgive my Stína for what she did to her mane

    Cutie-pies :)

    In the "separating ring"

My horses have the most ridiculous manes *sigh*

Wow, I really need to fix my toes ! I look really bad on that shot

    Getting our part home

What can I do but laugh ?

    Purdy one

    And another one

See, that's the other side of her mane *sigh*

And now, Stína and Asi show you the gaits of Icelandics

Im not just crazy, she is doing a flying pace right :) ?

    Pace and canter

    Tölt and canter

    Trot and pace

    Trot and pace, I think

Trot and pace, to my best knowlegde

    Trotty horses

    Again, but slowing down

    Walk
    And their favorite one

    Standing still !

Okay, im sorry for the picture flood
Well, I hope you enjoyed some of them :)

Wow Sis, thanks so much for posting them and for remembering your camera Once again the scenery is breath taking. Stina and Asi are gorgous even if Stina rubbed off part of her mane. At least half of it still looks good
Do they get to come home now?

Wow! They are tiny and so many. Are they wild or all are ridable?

well, some er broke and ridable, some are not and are kinda "semi-wild"
Here, horses are put up in huge pastures during the summer/fall/beginning of winter, and those whom are to be ridden, are taken in around newyears. Others and young ones (under 4) are outside all year long, with little human contact.
We were just herding them from one huge pasture to another closer to people, here :)
Kiki- I hear ya ! I was on the brink of hypothermia at one time, had been out pretty much not moving for 2-3 hours, in -X°c
