Horse show shots from Saturday

I've been wanting to practice my jumping photography, so on Saturday I toted ye olde camera out to one of the local Pony Club shows. Thrills, spills, itty-bitty jumps, and color-coordination galore. Actually, I think I left out the spills, but there were at least two or three.

I suggest turning off "Embiggen small things to fill screen" under Options in the upper right corner of the screen.

Those are amazing I wish I could take pictures that well. What type of camera do you use? They are really nice quality.

I use a Canon Rebel body and a Canon EF 70-200mm telephoto lens. Or at least I usually do at horse events.

Wow! Great pics! I need you to come teach my mom how to take pics. After a whole show day she had zero pics of me jumping. Ha! Anyways I love the pics, they're all so clear.

Lol...I found it very challenging. Getting "the jump" shot is hard! I think there are maybe 100 shots in that slideshow: that's out of 2,000 that I took throughout the morning So don't be too hard on your mom

Yah it's hard I know. But I've been riding for what 7 years and have maybe 1 jumping pic, lol! My mom will get the hang of it eventually, she's actually getting decent flatwork pics now so hopefully soon she'll catch on.

Great photos Sara! Keep taking shots, it's how you improve. Keep trying all the settings and try new angles and distances.
