Hey there HF friends....
While I ask the question "How are we doing" I am not really asking for some kind of critique, just wondering if you think there is improvements over the past month/months.

As you all know we (Candi And I) have changed our dicipline. While I have not ridden Hunters in many many moons and have been primarily riding Dressage for the last year + after not riding at all in 10 + years, I feel we are not doing all that bad. Switching from dressage to hunters might be a bit easier if my horse were a bit more put together. But she is still learn so it make it more of a challenge to keep my position in the place I want it.

Many of you also know that when I got Candi over a year ago she soon went to surgery after I got her. Then most recently the Dressage trainer that was working with her just didnt have enough knowledge/experience with TB's bred for racing, that we switched over to the Hunter/Jumper trainer who does have a Ton of experience and Knowledge with TB's both on and off the track.
Thus this is what we look like after 30 days!. The horse wasn't even allowed to canter before so this is VERY huge for us!
We are so damg excited! I have a horse that is no longer frustrated with being ridden and confusing aids, but rather a horse that is focused and allowed to go forward and use herself. She is getting so much better every week that she has us all surprised!
We are still working on the canter transition from trot tracking right. That is her hard direction so I usually leave that schooling for the trainer and her assistant. Candi also has some "mareish" ideas while we are going along in the arena that we are working on. She likes to kick the wall in the arena at certain points. While I try to stay off the wall there is still the kick out that she likes to do to evade or protest pressure from my outside leg. anyhow....we are working on things. . .and that is all that matters.

We will be working hard in our full training program to get ourselves to the hunter ring this summer! Local shows at my barn only for this year but who cares...we have come a long long way!
Yay for progress in leaps and bounds!

Enjoy the photos.....stay tunned this will take 3 posts to load the pics!
