Talking I rode Starlite bridleless!

Eeeeeek I'm so happy!! Starlite used to be a VERY hot horse, I don't think she is naturally that way but was made that way by constant running before I got her. I never thought I'd be able to just ride her in a halter or anything like that. But the other day!

She was perfect! She walked, stopped, turned, backed, and most importantly didn't take off We even trotted a bit and she stopped as soon as I asked! I'm so happy with her. My ultimate goal when I got her a little over 2 years ago was to ride her bridleless, it seemed like such a challenge that would never happen. But we did it!

And, for those of you that may remember Dream's kicking issues. I think one or a few of you suggested ulcers...
We treated her for ulcers and she is like a totally different horse. I think she...might even like us now!
I was rubbing her belly and touching her back and flanks last night and she didn't offer a kick once. Every once in a while when you walk by, she'll raise her leg, but she never has her ears back while doing it so it almost seems like it's out of habit LOL. She's been so good! Her and Starlite groom eachother all the time now and she never gets pissy when Starlite grooms her flanks which any pressure on her flanks used to be a huge issue. We were afraid it was her ovaries or something else, I'm glad it was simply ulcers and is all cleared up now. I think she is even turning into a lover...

Both of the girls are doing so well! I don't post too many pictures anymore, there really isn't time to take or upload any these days! But hopefully before winter I can have a nice photoshoot with them.

I've realized lately that Starlites issue is the saddle. She knows that saddle means work, and she LOVES work so she gets very hyped up. I never put it together because she doesn't get hot on the ground, but I started thinking about how weird it is that she's hot undersaddle but fine bareback so I finally realized that and can work on it.

LOL, don't be jealous! Ever since I got a job she rarely gets ridden and she gets SO pissy. Doesn't want to be caught, etc. But when she's gettign worked regularly she's fine...you know, pretty much the opposite of normal horses LMAO.

It's a very nice looking horse. Good for you for doing this with her. Keep up the good work and improving your bond and aids. Will be a very exiting project!
