Introducing my pony and me!

Hey all! I am fairly new to the forum and would like to introduce myself, and my pony Precious. Precious is a 13.3 hand welsh pony cross whose age is unknown and highly disputed but we think she's around mid-20s nowadays. I have owned her for almost ten years now (when I bought her we were scammed into paying double her asking price and were told she was 7 when she was more likely about 15). However she has been worth every penny! She has taught me more than any horse and is my best friend! We've shown up to 3'6" jumpers and schooled 4' at home. We've also done hunters, cross country, barrel racing, pole bending, and extensive trail riding. Since I've owned her for so long, I have an obscene amount of pictures. I will try to limit it to 1 or 2 per year of owning :)

2003-2004 (I have the least amount of pictures from our first two years. They were very rough! Precious would bolt, rear, duck out, etc with me and I was a very timid rider).

2005: Things started to improve! I got a lot braver and started being able to figure her out



2006: This one when we finally really clicked!
Jumping 3'9"!



She went from being my crazy psychopath pony to even being champion in a hunter division!


2007: I moved her to my best friends house and started doing some Natural Horsemanship with her, while still continuing training her on my own. This was the year I think we bonded the most :) I visited her every day, did lots of NH, and we really grew a lot together. This is when I literally began to trust Precious with my life, as you will see in the upcoming pics





2008: This was when I starting "growing up" and horses took a backseat for a little while to my boyfriend at the time, partying, other hobbies, etc. I still loved Precious but definitely did not ride as much as I had

2009: I couldn't last long before I went back to my horse crazy self :) went back to my old trainers to start riding more horses, kept Precious at my friend's house and tried to qualify her for pony finals! But unfortunately the pony jumper division never filled at the shows I went to, and we couldn't go to enough shows.


She loves attention




2010: Finally, after 7 years of showing and training with me, Precious was starting to seem like she didn't enjoy her job as much. She started going on and off lame. Since I had plenty of horses to ride at my trainers, I decided she'd earned some rest and put her into retirement. She went back to being the happy, spunky pony I love! (don't tell her she's old!)



2011-2012: I moved back to New Jersey, where I'm originally from, and Precious has stayed at my friend's house in Tennessee. I barely ever see her anymore and miss her like crazy! But I know they take great care of her and I think she's going to live out the rest of her days in TN.
