Jumping Nimir bareback..lol

Yep. So I thought these pics were kind of funny. I don't mind critique, but don't be too serious....I have ridden about less than 6 times in the last 6+ months because of my horribly broken ankle and other health problems. Although I found out today riding bareback doesn't hurt nearly as much...I just have to remember to keep those toes pointed in This is also the 4th time Nimir has ever been jumped and the first time he has EVER been jumped bareback. I know my form is horrid...I am so so so out of riding shape. But we had fun and I am so grateful to be able to ride...and I just wanted to share for a laugh I am going to be so sore tomorrow. I need to start jumping bareback much, much more often

Aww, Nim is so cute! Maybe you should be riding Sequel instead though...perhaps a very long walk would get her to hurry up! ;)

Is the name an intentional Anita Blake reference? Or accidental?

Everything that happens, be it the good, the bad and the downright miserable define who we are.

Thanks :) Haha...Yea...I tried to free lunge her very lightly a couple days ago and she looked at me like I completely insane and slowly ambles off with her back legs dragging to munch grass. I do try to go walk her at least every other day though. :)

I have no idea who that is so..nope! Lol. His registered name is Amirage Nimir. With Nimir (Nimr) meaning Tiger in Arab. And A Miraged Tiger type of meaning is what I was going for..haha.

Thanks...it isn't very noticeable in these pics because he is SO dirty/dusty. Once he gets a bath I will post new pics of him. His stripes are pretty dark this year although his undercoat does seem to be lightening a tad. I don't think his stripes will be going anywhere
Thank you :) And ya! I forgot how much I love to ride bareback...I've been trying to be so careful with my ankle. Turns out this is the solution. Not for shows of course.ha.ha.

Oh..I looked up Anita Blake and found the reference.

[edit]Wereleopard terminology
[edit]Pard
"pard" is the term wereleopards use to refer to their group. (In Middle English, "pard" referred to panthers or leopards).
A given pard's queen is its "Nimir-Ra,", and its king is its "Nimir-Raj." (Nimir appears to be a version of "Namir," the word for panther in Hindi, Arabic, and Hebrew. "Raj" is Hindi for king or ruler.) Nimir-Raj and -Ra (leopard kings and queens) are apparently unusual. Some pards (who number only a fraction of the membership of the typical werewolf pack) are led by a dominant known as either Léoparde lionné or lion passant.

Apparently the word Nimir also means panther or leopard. I know it is for tiger too though...*shrug* :) Oh well...Nims has some stripes and dapply spots so it still works!
