Red face This is Junior. He's an orphaned foal as of last night.

Not sure who is momma was or how she died (some complication with the delivery, I'm assuming.) I don't know how old the mare is or any specifics. Just that he was born late last night. The barn owner took him for a while since she knows how to handle these, and he's doing great. He's a TOTAL sweetheart, just puts his head in your lap.

He's adorable. Is the BO looking for a foster mare?

Awww that's too bad. There's something just not right when you see a newborn without his mom

I hope they can get a foster in there for him.

He's only staying at our barn until Monday. None of our foals have been born yet, so other horsey interaction isn't possible. All of our mares have been bred and are WAY to hormonal to safely have them together.
He's going back Monday so he can be with some foals, and I think they have a foster mare for him there. He had to come here because the BO knew how to get them to drink milk out of a bucket, which has helped a TON. He picked it up fast.

That's good to hear, I hope he continues improving! A foster mare will be great for him. It's a good thing y'all have been able to get him to drink from a bucket though
