Lacey!

She's been at my neighbor's house for about a month now and she's loving it! My neighbors seem to love seeing me riding her around the neighborhood and some of them save carrots for her and then when we go past come out to give them to her. Needless to say, Lacey has a new found love for houses.

We've also been doing lots of trail riding and she's really been liking that too. She's basically a bomb trail horse. When we're on the road going to the woods she's all over the place and annoying but once we hit the woods, she's all business. It's really cute.

We've also been giving lessons to three little girls every weekend and Lacey can't get enough of that. She LOVES little girls so this is basically her calling. She's so careful with them (two of them are 6 and the other is 9), I mean, she's careful with everybody, but with these little kids she's extra careful.

She's also about halfway done with her winter coat so she looks like a beast! She's not fully yak-i-fied yet but she's trying really hard to get there!

Pictures!

There were some migrant workers working in the yard across the road and they were playing music. Either she was hoping for some love or she likes mariachi music. :P

I found her laying down one day! I've NEVER seen her lay down before this. I know she does, but I've just never seen it. She got up right after I took this picture.

"Hiya! Treats?"

Pretty bushes!

Her eye! I really like this picture...

Tree!

Yesterday morning:

Angry trail pony with scary sun! Ahhhhh! This is her Halloween costume. :P

Feet.

She wanted to demonstrate to me how easy it was for her to turn her self into a pinto pony after being completely white.
What a jerk. Haha

She's silly. But I love her. Yay for pictures.

Aw, she's adorable. Gotta love the winter fuzzies LOL.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

She is adorable! What breed is she? I would love to find a lacey of my own someday. She reminds me of my beloved boy Buddy that passed in September.. Thanks for sharing all of the lovely photos you made my day.

Thank you ladies! I think if she were human, she'd be a model. She has "the look."
It's been so great having her [almost] home! I feel like after spending all summer together basically 24/7, there's this new side to our relationship that's really nice. I feel like we're more comfortable with each other now, like there aren't any surprises either of us could throw at the other... It's really great.

I'm hoping to get her clipped this winter and you know that if that happens, she IS getting a heart on her butt. And she'll probably buck me off as punishment. :P

Thanks! She's at least half Arabian, maybe full. Her previous owner (who supposedly was the one who bred her) only told me that she could be registered with the Arabian Horse registery but didn't give me any more information past that.
My guess is either full Arab or maybe Arab/Welsh (I was recently researching Arab/Welshes and so many of them look exactly like her).
I'm sorry for your loss of Buddy!
I'm terrified of the day I lose Lacey. Hopefully that won't be for a good while though. I've told her that she has to live long enough for me to get married and have kids and for those kids to learn to ride on her, alternatively, she has to live to 40. Now will she "obey" me? Who knows. Haha
