Hope you all don't mind! Haha!
Anyway, it's gorgeous out today, all sunny.
It's also super windy and not too warm which made our ride today a little less great. Lacey is fine with the wind by itself but the sunny forest is really scary to her due to her weird eye thing (congenital) where her eyes don't adjust to dark/light very quickly or well. So bright places in an otherwise dark forest are super scary for her.
When it's not windy she gets over the scary spots pretty quickly but when it's windy and sunny, the "monsters" keep moving and new ones pop out of nowhere then disappear. Poor girl.
Anyway, she was brave and only had a couple of really giant spooks. Thankfully she's more of a "stop and looker"-er vs a "spook out of nowhere"-er so rides on days like today involve lots of stopping and watching things.
When I first walked up:
Chillin' with the llama homies...
"Oh hello there! Are we going to hang out today?"
The 'required' "once I put her halter on and unclip her" buck/canter/trot to the shed where I tack her up
She likes to get halfway there, then stop and wait for me to catch up to her and clip her back up. Then we walk the rest of the walk together. Such a cutie pie!
That pad used to be pink fleece but it was looking yucky so I covered it with other cloth. AND! I made myself some neon pink latigos! Yes! It was crazy easy to do and for 2 latigos, it only cost me $13. They're really nice too, really grippy with each other yet easy to cinch. My only complaint is that when I bought the nylon, I didn't realize that latigos are more like 1.75 inch vs 1.5 inch wide so these are a little narrow. Oh well.
After our ride.
Because her forelock braid is so floofy, she looks like she has a mohawk. Hilarious!
I just missed her yawn. Hahaha!
And then, after I took all her tack off, she was nickering and nickering at me. I deduced that perhaps she wanted to go roll before I put her blanket back on and, as it turned out, that was exactly what she wanted. I love how communicative she is with me. Somehow she manages to let me know precisely what she wants.
I got some rolling shots but they weren't funny or interesting so we're moving on to the post-roll shots.
"Ok, I'm cold. Would you please bring me my blanket?"
"What? You refuse? You make me tired all over. Jerk."
"I'm coming, I wouldn't survive without my blanket!!"
"Ok, I'm here. Are you going to give me my blanket or what?"
"I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeddddddd my blanket, I tell you!"
"THANK YOU!!! Just look at how much more exhausted I am now. You are such a meanie. Now feed me before I starve!"
So I fed her. It just wouldn't be right to let a face as cute as that one starve (not that she's in any danger, at all, of starvation!!). Lol!
The end. Thanks for looking! :)
