Talking Lacey pictures and a couple of videos!

Lacey and I had a busy day today!

She needed to get ridden so I took her for a little ride, then the hoof trimmer came and gave her a little pedicure.

I also decided to take a few videos of our ride so they're in here too.

She was being a lot perkier today which is good considering how too laid back she's been acting. I'm glad that my girl is back. :)

Picture time!

She keeps spending the night in her shed and then not leaving to go to the bathroom. It's probably the worst ever. I would really prefer it if she didn't pretend she was stalled. Hahaha
Yesterday she pooped in her water. Thankfully she didn't do that again today!
Also, since when do horses poop this MUCH in one night?

"Did you see the gifts I left you? I thought you would love cleaning that up. You seem to really enjoy it. Yay!"

"Ya like my new breastcollar? It's classy looking."

Then we had our ride...

[disclaimer, these videos might make you feel a little sea sick seeing as how Lacey is trotting/cantering in some of them and she's not necessarily smooth... Sorry!!]

On our way back:

Posing.

"What do you mean when you say I'm not tied up? Of course I am! I have my halter on and everything."

The llamas: "Oh shoot! That THING is coming towards us. This doesn't look good..."

"RUUUUUUUNNNNNNN!!!!!! It's having a seizure! Ahhh!"
"I knew that thing was going to be dangerous."

Hahahaha my favorite.

Shake!

"What? I just wanted to be a Paint for a day..."

"What's that? You wanted me to be clean? MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! My plan is complete!"

"Pony has a sorry.....

...will you feed me dinner now? I didn't mean to be bad..."

And then, final measure, a cat. :) It likes to walk me back to my house from Lacey's.
Yep, I'm THAT person who collects animals. Hahaha

Thanks for looking! :)

Thanks HLL! :)

I'm glad csimkunas! :) She is a really nice ride, even though she's not smooth. Haha! I like her quite a bit.
I think my favorite thing about riding her is that she's so responsive. Sure, she'll pretend like she's going to do stuff (like in the first video where she's turning her head to sides in the first 30 seconds or so, she's trying to convince me that we really should turn around for home already) but if you're at all awake while riding her, you can generally get her to stop whatever it is with just a small correction. She's generally not one of those that just gets an idea and runs with it.
And she was being so laid back today, I bet I could have ridden her the entire time without my hands on the reins (I only did that a little bit, haha). Pretty much all the control I used on her today was voice/seat.

Thanks LittleAppy! :)

It is, Tiny! The ground is really pretty good along there too (crushed gravel, nearly sand level crushed, with leaves etc over the gravel) so I never have to worry about the footing being slippery or anything.
It was invaluable to teach Lacey about how every canter doesn't need to be a race. To begin with, she always wanted to canter super fast, so we cantered that entire stretch "super fast" on a regular basis last year. She learned pretty quickly that it might be in her best interest to conserve energy by cantering a little more slowly.

As my hoof trimmer said yesterday: "Lacey's the kind of horse that makes people fall in love with horses." [we need a "horse hugging a human" smiley, haha!]

She's been such a great confidence builder for me. Jsut sassy enough to force improvement and just calm enough to encourage confidence.
I used to be sooooooo scared to canter yet there I am, cantering along, holding a camera in one hand and the reins in the other.
