She's been having a grand old time at my neighbor's house! She seems to have settled in really well and is basically completely over her initial herdbound-ness with the horses "next door."
Over the last 3 weeks or so we've ridden more than 10 miles of trails, which is pretty cool! I got an app for my phone that lets me track how far we go, what our average speed is, and where we went on a map.
We've been having a lot of fun!
These pictures are from the last week or so:
Lacey's so cool that she actually ponies dogs. For reals, the dog (my next-door neighbor's free-ranging dog) is rather dog aggressive and since I was riding a horse and he wouldn't stay at home, and since he would try to attack any dogs we saw, we improvised. He wasn't sure about being that close to Lacey at first, but then he was totally fine. We even did a little trotting with him right there and he just ran along side like it was something he does everyday! haha
Sitting poneh! O.o Actually, she was getting up from rolling and I caught it just right. Heehee!
Cute poneh face! Awww!
That girl has the face of manipulation!
I accidentally took her on a 5 mile trail. Poor girl! She was very sedate the next day! haha And this is the first summer/fall that I have EVER seen her sweat! I really think that the years she spent being obese (with her previous owner) messed up her sweat glands, or something. I don't even know.
I think she could be a wrestler or something, I mean, c'mon now, she's like crazy buff. Haha!
Mah poneh and me
"Lacey, do you want an apple?"
"Yes! But I need to be polite and pee first since I would NEVER pee while you're doing something to me. That'd be just rude, crude, and socially unacceptable!" (that's really what she thinks, she has never performed a bodily function while I'm working her, except for the very occasional poop, excluding farting. Hahaha!)
"I'm very sexy, aren't I, dahhhhling?" (take note of the grass-arette)
Thanks for looking!
