It appears as though Miss Lacey's latest ERU attack is finally under control and she's finally feeling better. Yay!
She REALLY wanted to go on a ride today so who was I to refuse? Haha She's really funny like that - sometimes you can just tell that she's getting a little crazy "cooped up" in the pasture and that she needs a change of scenery.
So we went on a pretty simple ride today - just about 4 miles total, predominantly walking with a little bit of trotting. Lacey really enjoyed herself and she wasn't too overly spooky so I'm optimistic that she didn't loose much more vision in her right eye (which is the one with very little vision anyway+the one that has taken the brunt of both her most recent ERU attacks).
Lady was pretty good as well. She was much less happy to be out (Lacey gets antsy when we don't go for rides often enough, Lady gets barn sour beyond belief) but Lacey and I kept her in line.
Still don't know if she's preggo or not which is very frustrating. Apparently the rescue wants to ultrasound her and their vet's current ultrasound is broken so they're waiting on the arrival of a new one? I don't know. Weird.
Also! I finally got fencing put up to make two large outdoor areas attached to the stalls. So, next time Lacey has an ERU attack, I can MAKE her stand in the shade vs just stick her flymask on and hope for the best. The flymasks I use claim to have 73% UV protection but yknow...I'm excited about the stalls.
Anyhoo, I know you're probably dying for pictures so here you go. :)
This was another round of the game I call "taking pictures with the camera with a broken screen+no view finder" so yay for "artsy" angles... LOL!
Before+after of my "fancy" stalls... The girls "helped" by standing in their respective areas while the fences went up aound them. When I was done, Lady went around sniffing every inch of fencing and every fence post like "where did these come from!!?" It was funny.
[post caps have been added now too, no worries]
Feeling better today!!
Our farrier cut the shanks off Lacey's pelham for me so now it's just a snaffle! It's great. Lacey loves it even more, if that was even possible, now!
[the curb chain is still on it because, though it has no leverage anymore, Lacey, I guess, likes the stability of a curb chain? She acts weird if there isn't one...so I give her one. Hahaha!]
Ready to go!
It was so pretty out today...!
Lady's like "I'm not sure I like being out..."
Lacey - "WAT!? Blasphemy."
Lacey - "You WILL ENJOY YOURSELF."
I love her neck+ears. So cute.
All the cotton tree stuff made me feel like it was snowing... hahaha
Home...almost. Hosing off time!
Really, Lacey. Tell us more, please.
She was apparently aware of our discussion last time. She's going to the Olympic gold in YAWNING! Go, Lacey, Go!
And then I fed them and set them free into their pasture. :)
And I found some apples while I was walking home...soooo:
Thanks for looking!
I hope you guys are all having great days! And hopefully you were able to ride too... :)
