Little Chris! :D

I love this pony, he just has some attitude. He's impatient, kinda going on that "oh he's a baby" thing.. But now he's 5. He can w/t undersaddle no problem. He throws a fit when he canters (undersaddle..) - but he's really really a nice ride. He hasn't been ridden too much, and it seems that I get to be his new rider. He's little (12. Something? I wanna say.) - and I'm 5'1 100 pounds. My trainer, his breeder/owner says I'm the perfect pony jockey! XD

Last week I came out for a lesson, and rode Little Chris. He was great, cantered half way around the ring behind another horse! Until he got tired of working/something spooked him. He jerked back, into some kind of half rear, and I fell off. I'm the first person to come off of him. O: Of course, I got back on & did some more work. We didn't canter, but I tried to get him to.

Today, I went out to do some respect games. I did..
-The porcupine game. (he picked that up right away!)
-Backing up.
-The circling game. (at a wal.k)
-The squeeze game. (at a walk.)
-The friendly game; we walked/trotted over a tarp, played with a plastic bag full of cans, and a lunge whip.
-Then I turned him loose in the roundpen; he just trotted with me nagging. I had the tarp up, so when it blew in the wind he spooked :( - but we'll get over that.

The thing that scared him most was the bag full of cans. I put it on his back & he spooked at it, bucking and running. When he gets scared/frustrated he bucks. I could reprimand him too well, I messed up my hand yesterday.. My response time is really slow since it hurts.

Well, I got a few pics! ;D He's a black going gray... I love it!

I'm lazy so I did uploads.

There is a mare at the barn that I go to that has a coat similar to Chris's, both coats are great looking.

Beautiful horse.

Aww, he's so handsome! I just love how you can still see his dapples even under all that winter fuzz.
Good luck on his training!

He is such a cutie. Doing those games and desensitize him will really help him. I desensitize my horses a TON before I even get on them. Really prepare him for anything that is going to happen.

Thanks everyone! He's a lot like my pony, so it's not a big change. :]
