Hi All, Meet Poco our rescue pony - this pony was bought from a horse sale, by a person who wanted to "rescue" a horse/pony. Unfortunately after 4 weeks she found that a 10 month old colt without pony proof fencing was a bit of a nightmare. So this is when I came in and decided to take him in and give him a home. I was looking for a suitable companion for my boy and a project for me and Poco fits the bill on both accounts. My horse adores him and I am excited to start work with him. He will be gelded in the Spring (currently a very wet winter here in Aus) and he has a home for life, he has a fantastic temperament and is very bold and curious. The following photos are of him within 1/2 of him being home (he looks terrible, but still very cute) - tomorrow we will be doing a full makeover as I don't think he has ever been groomed - worming, feet will be done on Monday (he needs corrective trimming) and slowly intoducing hard feed as he is very thin. He is a Shetland and is registered with 2 associations. I do have a question for all the colour gurus here - he is a buckskin, but his undercoat is grey and his skin is pink, which I have not seen before - so is he a silver buckskin??? Or will he grey out?? So thank you for taking a look at Poco - I will update photos as he gains weight and matures - We just love him..
