    Meet the new guy!

What a day..up at the crack of dawn, well early anyway, got the trailer hitched up, breakfast eaten, then set off on our journey, got as far as the end of the driveway, and got stuck in a frozen snow drift. Eventually got a neighbour to come dig us out with his snow blower and tractor,

Had to unhitch before we got her done, see the trailer here?

DH was having a complete melt down at this point "#*^*# horses" and wondering about the sanity of going to pick a horse up in this weather:

A cold airmass and moderate northwest winds will combine to produce extreme wind chill values over most of Southern Saskatchewan until Monday afternoon. As of 3 PM CST, wind chills are in the minus 40 to minus 42 range over much of the region. Wind chills will remain in the minus 40 to minus 45 range overnight and Monday morning over most of Southern Saskatchewan.

At these extreme wind chill values frostbite on exposed skin may occur in less than 10 minutes.

    Driving was fun

    But the navigator wasn't worried

Well we actually got there and back without to much trouble, and now the local are upset.

Ace is doing her best Arab look

And poor Poncho was swimming through the snow

    All this because of

(So love my new trailer, couldn't of done the trip today with the stock trailer)

And here he is say Hi to Cody

He is a 12 year old QH, registered, but haven't managed to get his registered name, or a sneak at his papers yet

He is supposed to be a BTDT sort of guy, very quiet, well broke, western trail and cow horse.

He is coming here for a couple of months for me to ride, so I can get my mojo back, and start ponying the dressage divas out and about.

When spring comes he will either be sold on, or I will buy him for myself, which means that one of the Divas would have to go.

Yup, Ben is still here, I've been interviewing a few trainers with thoughts of sending him out for a month to get a little refinement on him. I have also got a new trainer lined up to ride with, who has an indoor. Was meant to start last week, but had the flu, then this weekend was taken up with fetching Cody,so hoping that next week maybe our start back.

Congrats on the new horse! Gotta love the SK winters and wind! That picture of the road with the snow blowing is exactly what our highway looked like when I was driving in to work on Saturday. Lots of fun!

Awww, what a cutie. He looks like a horsey snow angel with the frost on his nose and eyelashes. What a sweet face.
BTW, your donk is brave. Mine would never even step out of the barn with that much snow!

It can warm up anytime it likes, this is just to darn COLD, to cold to play with the pony.
