I've only had these guys for 4 days so please excuse their appearance and the makeshift pen! They were pulled from a herd of 150, the mare may be pregnant, and both have been left untouched for an unknown amount of time, the previous owners couldn't even say how old they are, or really anything else, aside from the fact that they are Shetlands and unrelated. I love the coloring on the boy, and he has a roan patch so might even be homozygous.

So, I've been working with them for an hour or two every day since I've had them and they've gotten to the point where I can pet the mare (mostly white pony) along her neck and butt, and the colt I can pet for about 2 seconds before he backs off. All in all they are gentle ponies, and I'm not in a huge rush to get them desensitized and worked with.

They do still need names so I'm open to suggestions!

I know they need a lot of weight and TLC, but I can't wait to see them transform into happy, chunky ponies.

The poor things will tear up the grass and eat the roots so I think they've been hungry a while. It can be hard to be patient with them, I just want to love all over them and get the burrs out of their manes and get them on the road to recovery so we can start the training. The little mare raised a hoof at me to kick so I had to explode on her, so they aren't so sure about me at the moment. Pony or not, nobody kicks!
