Meet Rafe. :D

Just in case there are many people who are not watching the thread Foal Watch 2009, I wanted to introduce Rafe. YES, Bessie finally had her colt. He was born on the 16th sometime between 3 am and dawn. These pictures are the first time he was ever handled.

Look how tall that little booger is. I am 5'5" and he stands at just below my boobs.

I really like this pic because it is the first time she has actually shown some life in her ears. Ever since we got her, they always just kinda hung out to the sides. She is much more active now that she isn't carrying him around any more.




I am so proud of Bessie, she did a great job.

Thank you everyone. Bessie is a wonderful mom and so protective. If another horse gets within about 20 feet, she is running at them with ears pinned. I am so happy that I finally have a baby to work with.

He is absolutely precious. I love babies!!!!!!!!!! Its great that she is so protective but still lets you handle him so much, she looks like shes going to be a great momma :0)
