Meet Skipper!

He is a roughly 16hh QH who was previously used as a mountain trail and packing horse. We think he is around 7 years old. He moves like a TB and I was told he is running bred. (As opposed to foundation bred, I guess).

He apparently has been pretty stubborn for the other people who have ridden him here but so far he's been an angel for me after I showed him I wasn't going to put up with crap. He is certainly well trained, just a bit rusty and needs to know who is boss. I love him.

He's beautiful!!!

To see the wind's power, the rain's cleansing and the sun's radiant life, one need only to look at the horse."

So far, I've had my crossunder bitless bridle, my myler loose ring, contoured loose ring french link, and single joint contoured sweet iron loose ring snaffles on him as well as halter and lead rope. He definitely prefers bitless (previous owner rode in a hackamore which I don't own or have access to) and his favorite bit is the single joint contoured sweet iron loose ring snaffle.

I've also used both a western saddle and my jumping saddle as well as bareback and he's fantastic.

He's not a huge fan of trotting bareback so far.. don't really blame him as his topline sucks atm (wooo something to work on ) and he's got a very bouncy TB-like trot. He's not papered, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's actually an appendix. He's a ton of fun though! Will definitely get more pictures soon.
