Merlin -- His Road To Recovery

Well Merlin is a mini, you can find out about him here. Goals To Have With Him .. ..

One problem about Merlin, is he has extremly bad feet and teeth. So I've just been bonding with him. His such a sweet heart. He is not my pony, so I cannot get his feet/teeth done. Merlin use to have his full winter coat, and its summer here. But several days of hard work I brushed it off and his tail and mane were a mattered mess.

I will keep you updated, with photos.

He is a beautiful unique looking little fellow. What a lovely mane and tail he has. It looks like he is doing a half way decent job of self trimming on his feet. I take it one of your goals is to get his feet easier to handle so a farrier can get to them? As far as his teeth, my vet sedates all of our horses to do the teeth. Maybe you can talk the owners into footing the bill for that. Then you can do the feet as well while he is sedated.
If he was here in Kansas I would come and buy him!

It's hard to watch an animal that is not your own being neglected but, unless you can take over his maintenance, all you can do is make a pest of your self to the owner until they take care of it.

(BTW, Maureen, I would fight you for him - OK, Tony then. )

    He's such a cutie! ^_^
I hope something can get done about his teeth and hoofs.

Thanks guys, mum and dad have agreed so now all we have to do is ask the owners and he will be mine, I don't think they will mind as it doesn't seem they care for him. He snapped the over groth off both his front feet, still needs to be trimmed but better.

He is okay with having his feet handled, but he is very skitish. I really want to do lunging exersizes with him, but I don't want to hurt his feet. So just grooming and bonding for now.
