A month off, and back in the saddle- *Pic Heavy*

So I made a post at the end of winter about how unmotivated I was to ride since I have nobody to ride with and how Cooper was being ridden very rarely and not very long on the days I did ride.
I was in the barn grabbing my tack by 8:30 am and just took my time to really enjoy what I was doing again. I did a nice long grooming session, tacked up, longed him for just a few min, and hopped on. It was hot, but I had a great time! We just rode around the house but man oh man was he well behaved! So impressed, I love my pony! Heres some pics from today!!

Are we goin' for a ride?!

Aww,come on ma, no more pictures

After our ride

Love this pic of us

Thanks. I had such a good time yesterday. I might just hop on again today. I wish I had some horsey friends in my new area to ride with though!

But I love my boy. We went from being not so bonded- when he was on full board, and being ridden 4 x'sa week- to- I would stand behind him all day and I don't think he'd kick me. He's got such an awesome laid back personality but he's so cute I just wanna love on him all day.

I to have NO ONE to ride with... I just tuff it up and ride alone any how... I hate riding alone but actually, if I am with a horse its really not lonely, maybe quiet yes, but lonely no... My horse gives me all the companionship I need. Plus, its easier to ride alone, I can concentrate more on his behavior like his bucking... xD

2nd weekend in a row we rode. This time my hubby came out and took pics. He's the best <3

I don't know what my hands were doing.. hehe, I guess we're both a little rusty

Reminding him how to back up.. lol we had to work on that a bit

Close up <3

And then my daughte asked if she could ride, I couldnt resist. Disregard the sandals and no helmet. I had full control of Cooper :)

Great pictures! I've always been such a "go go go" person, you know? And horse ownership has really forced me to slow down and ENJOY the experience. I used to fly through grooming sessions and riding, and I could tell my horses could feel that rushed energy. Ever since I started to make a conscious effort to slow down, I think they seem to enjoy it much more and so do I! I know what you mean about not having people to ride with, too. My husband and I move frequently due to the military and I'm currently trying to meet some new horse people, too!
