Most Memorable Horse-y Moment of 2013

What has been your most memorable moment or moments with your horse/horses in 2013? Did you achieve a major goal or win at a big show? Share your stories/experiences! And of NEED to share the pic as well.

I would say the #1 on the list for me of most memorable moments was watching my heart horse, Lindy, be a wonderful loving GREAT first time Mom. I couldn't have asked for it to go any better for her. I was proud of my little homebred baby....and have big plans for her!

We had a rough start with Phoebe with attitude and kicking and what not....but kept working with her and once she was weaned POOF problem solved. She has been a little sweet I hope that ball keeps rolling. lol

My #2 most memorable moment of 2013 was when I traded our two year old for a weanling filly (same breeder that owns Phoebe's Sire) out of a mare that I've been wanting a baby from for probably literally 8+ years. haha AND I've ALWAYS wanted a was a match made in heaven. I LOVE this little filly. She is as sweet, quiet, and gorgeous as they come. I think she might be working her way up the ladder to heart horse number two! Which I didn't think was possible. Ruby is a doll baby and I'm excited for her future as well!

Share yours!!!

My most memorable moment was falling in to a barb wire gate, because my sweet pea wouldn't stop.....happened a few times.
My other memorable experience was teaching my horse to walk, yes walk. Not gallop or trot but walk.

#1 for me has to be riding my 3 year old. She's constantly amazing me around each bend, from completing a difficult full day trail ride after 90 days under saddle, to each and every ride giving 110% and not saying no to anything. The other day I hopped on her bareback with just a halter and did some w/t work - neckreining!
Pictured below, us schooling at a popular show venue.

A close second was my re-debut in the show ring with Ronan, the gelding I owned for about a year. I hadn't competed in about 7 years, and made my first show back at Spruce Meadows. It was an absolute blast, I can't wait to get Zoe in the show ring in 2014.

My best moment this year so far was my first jump. It was really low and my horse barely jumped it but it was a huge milestone for me. I was grinning for the rest of the lesson

I the most memorable for me was when we got to our new indoor arena for the winter and we rode bareback and bitless (in a halter) and we did three full circles loping without braking gait. He was perfect for me and he behaved even better without the bit and bareback than he ever has with a saddle and bit in.
I truly believe bareback and bitless is heaven.
This photo is the closest I have to when I rode - but just take the bit and bridle out of the photo and I am not holding onto his mane.
It was fantastic.
