My attempt at mane pulling

Well I was taught how to pull a mane yesterday and thought I would have another go today on my horses.

I had a bit of a go on Pepper because either she has been rubbing at it or one of the boys has been chewing it. I think I ended up getting a bit longer as I went. I was doing it in the wind which made it harder and she wasn't giving me her hair hehe. Though its pretty short she has pretty thick hair for an appy. Before something happened, all her mane was as long as the longest part. Anyway I'll have a go with the boys after lunch. Just thought I would share.

Also just thought I would share a pic of her forelock which is just a big chunck of fluff literally

Best way to get it level is start in the middle, the work towards the ears, then go back and work down to the withers.

Good job so far

Here are a few pics of the boys.

Apache I wanted to show his forelock its nice and long but the wind stuffed the photo up and I didn't realise (there are short bits but isn't as uneven as the picture shows). I am also quite proud of his mane it has doubled in length since I got him from an awful cut with scissors. I didn't really want to get rid of the length but I still wanted a go so I just tidied up the bottom a bit.

Sammy had an awesome long mane when I got him but it hasn't changed much so I didn't want to ruin it, and I left it. His forelock is a bit pathetic though, when I look at old pictures it looked pretty long, so I don't know what happened anyway.
