My first horse, Magic (move plz if in wrong thread...)
This is loooooong warning!!!
I was looking through some old pics on my computer and I came upon this pic of my firts horse Magic. She is a Paso Fino mix(not sure what else, she was an accident, mother was papered, father unknown...)And had a very gaited walk! I got her for xmas when I was 13 or 14 I can't remember exactly, and boy was she a mess. Poor thing, you couldnt take your finger tip and touch it to her without touching a huge tick when I firts got her, mom ash and I stood outsidr for 5 hours with a box of killtix and curry combs just trying to get them off of her. She was unbroke and TERRIFIED of men, but became the best horse ever!
I outgrew her by 16 and gave her to my sister, BIG mistake, I regret it every day. Ashlee is very ignorant about horses and how to care for them, but mom made me do it. She was very harsh with her and turned her from calm and absolutely perfect to a nervous wreck in a matter of months. She would jerk the reins when Magic got nervous and wouldnt stand still, never had slack on the curb bit poor girls mouth was always open... I always got in trouble for yelling at ashlee when she started being mean to her but it didnt help at all...
Then Ashlee tired of her after a few years and decided to take her to the AUCTION!! I was heartbroken...and had no control... She sold for $650 to a woman who promised to care for her. Well I thought I would never hear from her again until one day we got a letter from these people from florida who had bought her from the lady, they said the lady had her in a TWH bit with 8inch shanks and she was covered in mud and saddle sores and the lady was using a piece of sugar cane to smack her with to get her to move... They bought her for $100 because the lady said she was hard headed and didnt want her anymore... Now magic lives in Florida with a 13 year old girl who loves her dearly, both parents are in the air force, so I know they have the money to care for her, they occasionally call and give a checkup on how she is doing, she is currently being trained in dressage and competes in local shows... Im so glad these lovely people found her and had the heart to find us and tell us she was ok! I regret letting Magic out of my hands every day, but now she has a new life and is the first horse of a lovely little girl!
Her with Ashlee...
