Smile My Harry

Ok so at the end of April I bought my first horse Harry (not the first horse I worked with I have been looking after horses for years). He was in pretty dire state when I went to see him and his friend Molly was even worse.

(sellers photo)
Unfortunately I couldn't take Molly as well because she was out of control and I couldn't spare the money but Harry was everything I wanted in a horse except for his neglect, it's hard to see but you could put your hand like into his rib cage but he had such a thick coat you couldn't really see it in the photos and his feet were overgrown.
He was riddled with red worm and absolutely coated in lice it took me untill about a week or two ago, so 5 or 6 weeks to get rid of them all.

Here he is on his first day with me.

(This photo makes me look tall but I'm standing uphill from him)

It took him an hour and a half to eat his first scoop feed and it took him a few days to work out that hay is and edible lol, we had to mix grass in with it to get him to eat it!

and here he is 7 weeks on!

Just thought I'd share, sorry the new picture isn't great but he's a bit camera shy now and later hopefully I will get pictures of him working, he is such a nice mover :3!

remarkable progress! Looks like a different horse!

Horseless currently. Hoping someday that will change.

Great work, he looks so handsom now!

You are never better than anyone. Every rider has skills they need to improve. The only one you must compare yourself with, is you.

He's looking great! Any idea of his breeding? He looks like a Shire cross.
