My new addition

I now have a new addition to add to my one horse herd, making it two to tango :) Meet Jack "One eyed Jack"
He is 13yrs old and a pleasure western horse...My niece is giving him to me to take over because where we have our horses at is her parents and she wants to move to town and needs to save money..So I am keeping him there with my horse yippeee! He dont have to be sold to a stranger:)) And I get to keep a second riding horse to throw someone up on when I want to go riding w/a partner. He is also one I can just saddle up and go on - unlike my Charley boy right now..(Who needs more work) These photos were taken back in May so he is a bit wooly in the photo's. And yes, a one eyed horse...He lost it due to an infected cut or something like that over ten yrs ago...You would never know its gone riding him.

Things he is going to have to learn is to come up to me when he is out to pasture like my Carley does...Other than that and being a little sour he is going to be great! I'll have to work the sour out of him.
Here they are together..As you can see he is a chunky monkey I'll have to keep an eye on his weight and make sure he dont gain anymore.

He is a pleasure to ride. I rode w/her today and we swapped horses..(Surprised she got on my big ol Charley, but she did!) She has been afraid of him due to size and him being young..But he's growing up and growing up fast with some good manners..I was working on him teaching him to neck reign...He is so use to english style..I got my 10yr old son to ride Jack and they did great together! He is a keeper for a pleasant ride.

I'll update current pictures this coming weekend..I got my 10yr old son to ride Jack..He is going to be a good pleasure horse with no worries...Anyone can ride him at any stage of riding exp..Oh and I am proud to announce that my niece got on Charley boy this weekend and rode him!! "she said she would never do!" Because he is young and started out w/bad manners - He's come a long way and is doing great w/training....I am now working on neck reigning...Moving away from English if I can teach him right..
(((( Sorry double post didnt think the other one went through )))
