My New Project, Fancy.

So..Lucky's been up for sale for awhile, but hasn't sold yet. I'm still leasing her, but BO asked if I would work with Fancy for her as well.
Today was my first day doing anything with her, aside from correcting her for being in my space when I go out to get Lucky.
She didn't do half bad. :p
I thought she'd be a lot worse than she is, but there are definitely things we need to work on. Like tying... >.>

But, from what I understand, she's full QH. She's chestnut, really sensitive, and a bit spooky with only the arena lights on.
I plan on working with her during daylight hours next time I get her out..since we ended horribly today. ;; She decided she'd freak as soon as I set her foot down (was picking it up to see how well she did, figured she'd be perfectly fine since she has her feet done often). BO's tie is half way out of the But, got her calmed down, and when I went to change her halter back (I had mine on since BO told me she wasn't great with tying, because it uses poll pressure and wasn't a break-away) and she took off into the wrong field. *sigh*
Next time, it'll be daylight and she won't be getting away from me so easily. .-.

Anyway, without further ado, we have crappy pictures of Fancy.

She's a pretty girl.

Thanks guys.(:
I was actually really reluctant to lease her, since Lucky was suppose to be sold two months ago, but I think she'll turn out to be a mean barrel horse when I start her on them. She moves away from pressure amazingly (until she's tied, of course) and works off her hind end very well.
I'll probably toss her in the round pen to see how well she listens to voice cues for lunging and all that.
She did freak when I tapped her with the lead when she bumped into me though, so I'm glad she's super responsive instead of a butt head like Lucky, haha.
And, I'm completely open to any tips, since she's the second green horse I've worked with so far. I think we'll do good together.(:

Alrighty. Well, I worked with Fancy for a little bit after I got back from my show with Lucky.(:

She did pretty well, and I'm really excited. I've found out that she has a slight bucking issue, which I'm slightly reluctant to take on. But, I'll deal. BO and her friend (who's riden Fancy) let me know that she has some nice bucks that are normally atleast 3 foot off the ground. I guess it'll definitely keep me from leaning forward much when I ask her to go, lol. I got a little one out of her while I was working with her in the arena yesterday (but we did have daylight ). She's rather..stubborn with forward movement, but it's really nice when you get her going.
I'm gonna ask to change her bit out, since she's in some type of tear-drop straight curb. She stops with just my seat and picking up the reins a bit, so I doubt stopping will be any issue, but I only had her walk/trot so I'll find out about canter later.

Any tips to get her to want to walk on..? She got really bored after two circles either way, so I'll have to find different exercises to keep her focused and not as bored. She has really nice 180 spins that she sits her butt down for, so I can see her being an amazing barrel horse as long as she likes it.

I'm so excited my BO asked me to work with her though. It proves that she obviously views me as a better rider/handler than she acted like I was at the beginning of the year. She even told me that I'm training her, not just working with her. One of my friends told me about how I should be getting paid for it, but I'm willing to do it just for the experience before I get my own green one. The one I'm buying next year (have it set up with a friend of ours from shows) is farther along than this one, so I should be set, haha. I'll be counting my hours of training Fancy as my community service (along with cleaning stalls on weekends) for my senior project. So, I get to do what I love.(:

So..I am looking for a few tips on:
-fun things to do with her, that will keep her interested (she's only 5 and still has a bit of a baby mind)
-what to do with bucks (I have things I do, but I'd like to know of more techniques)
-how to work with tying when I don't have anything like a sturdy tree to use..I only have the ties that are screwed into the beams for the barn arena, and she already almost ripped the sturdiest one right out. I refuse to constantly stand there and fuss over her to keep her calm.
-what bit would you suggest? I have access to straight curb, jr cowhorse (twisted, but I believe there's a smooth one as well), wonderbit (one with a smooth broken mouthpiece and one with a dog bone type mouthpiece with a large copper roller), and I have a few hacks that I can use. I only know how to use one of the hacks though, and it's a combo. I need to be able to direct rein with her though, and I believe the jr cowhorse is the only one I can (correctly) do that with..
-whatever else you wanna offer some tips/techniques up on? lol

I have a few pictures of me standing with her undersaddle, and I'll upload them later when I get home and can transfer them onto my computer.(:
