This is a little horse I have been watching for quite a while now. She lives less than a block away. The guy that owns her owns quite a bit of other rag tag looking horses that he buys skinny, and if my eyes dont lie to me, stay skinny or get skinnier. She looks younger in person than what the camera makes her look, she looks a year old, or younger, not much older though. Beautiful looking girl Next time I see her owner I will ask him whether not I can buy her as such a young horse should not be so skinny. I couldnt get a side shot to show all of her ribs but she has them all sticking out. She has such a long mane that would have to be cut as such a knot has never been seen! She has been neglected, no questions asked. Poor baby ): Even if I cant purchase her, I would like to give her a good brush down and to get all tidied up. Thankfully, we are friends with her owner We rescued my Arab and he is doing wonderfully, I hope if I can purchase her she will have the same ending.
And oh, I wanted to ask, what breed does she look like? Or what breeds does she have in her? To me, she looks like she has a tiny bit of Arab in her, but maybe thats just me
Thats what I though to. Thats all the horses get year round, just grass. Even in the winter ): I have to get some pictures of the other horses he owns, such a disgrace :|
Next time I see her I will get a side shot, she has all of her ribs showing. Look, almost all horse people are a little crazy (Me included) I will keep you updated If I do purchase her prepare for loads of pictures and oh, a question, she is a mare and we have two geldings, if we put them together do you think their will be any problems?
Hopefully, no. But I have a saying, I coined it but you can borrow it - "Mares make geldings do stupid things". If the mare is smart, she will use her feminine wiles on the boys, & have them squabble amongst themselves for her affections.
Ahh okay Truthfully speaking, I know nothing about mares, so would I have to "fix" her if we only have geldings? And isnt she like to old to fix? And whats the proper word instead of fix? lol. We have NO intentions on buying any stallions any time soon also. Im more of a gelding fan
Very rare & even rarer to have a mare "fixed" or spayed. Expensive risky procedure for mares. She will most likely be fine with the boys, they can only dream anyways.
Lol, okay. Thank you! One more question, how old does she look? Cause if I buy her, as soon as she gets used to things at her new home I would want to start ground training, and then, breaking her to ride, but how much longer after I purchase her should I wait before even thinking of riding? I know that right now she is way to small, but what, like a year later maybe?
She looks very wormy. Honestly, to me she doesn't look horrible. I think with a good worming plan the nutrition will go to where it is suppose to go and not to feeding all the worms in her. I would def talk to a vet about the safest way to worm her, you don't want her to colic.
She doesn't hit me as a hard keeping horse if she looks like that on just grass.
How old does she look to you? Yes, she looks very wormy, that will be the first thing I do IF I can purchase her.
