New here and new mount!

I'm new here and thought I'd show off my new mount Shania. Shania isn't mine but is owned by a family friend. I ride her about once a week (gas is expensive). She's a flea bitten grey Arabian who came to us a bag of bones. She hadn't been ridden in for ever and now that she can be ridden she's a pain in the butt and is starting from scratch pretty much. I'v ridden her a total of two time for 2 hours and am already seeing a small improvement. Here are some pics =)

(please don't comment on the bit we aren't using it any more and are changing to a d-ring snaffle)

My old mount Tamira(absalutly LOVE this mare) can no longer ride her as new owners don't want me to(after saying i could >.>) Also arabian

Thank you. When all groomed up they are GORGEOUS! Yeah sucks cause she was an AWESOME mare. We clicked on our first ride and just understood each other. She taught me how to correctly use a hackamore too. I still get to spend time with her just not in the saddle =/

That horse is gorgeous! I'm so jealous. One of my favorite colors too. Haha.

You can tell a gelding. You can ask a stallion. But you must discuss it with a mare. -Unknown

Welcome to the forum!

Don't worry about the bit she is using, there is nothing wrong with it if she neck reins, is used to it, and you know how to use it.

Enjoy her!

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

It's not always what you say but what they hear.

She doesn't neck rein really were still testing her. thats why we are changing her bit to a direct reining one.

Then that will be a good choice - good luck with her, she is a beautiful horse.
