A New Name for Alpo

This is my new horse Alpo. After having him a couple of days I am wondering if we should change his name from Alpo to something else. Any suggestions or should we keep it Alpo?

I am posting a poll with some names I am playing with so feel free to vote on any or add your own to the thread, Thanks

EDIT: I forgot one name in my poll "Apollo" just +1 if you like it.

I would change his name too, it reminds me of the dog food Alpo.
I like almost all of the suggested names, but my 3 picks in this order are Sherlock,Merlin, and Oz.

Funny or not that's what it was named for.

if the horse recognizes his current name, then you could just change it slightly to your +1 on the poll, Apollo.

we had a big grey lesson horse at the boarding barn back in the day that was named Apollo. looked a lot like your guy!

Why name a horse after dog food? Now that I think of it that is totally something my family would do! My vote is for Merlin then Apollo. Good looking horse.

For some reason Sherlock stuck when I saw him.

Not to hijack the thread, but is there something wrong with his back legs, or is it just me?

I like Astro or Apollo. Much more dignified than Alpo.

To be honest I am out of state at work and my wife just picked him up a couple of days ago and sent these pics to me so I haven't even seen him in person. I questioned the legs as well but she says its just that picture and he is fine. The only thing wrong is he is in need of a trimming.

The wife rode him around before making the purchase, say's he's really good.
