Hey all!! I would like to introduce you all to Gallahad! He is my new project (and I am in love with him) His story: He was a NYC carriage horse, was a rescue, still a bit nervous, very green under saddle, will NOT stand to be mounted, and I get to spend the next 4 months training him on the ground and eventually under saddle! I am 100% in love with him already! He is GORGEOUS! They say hes a full Shire, but I don't think thats right, so ideas on breeding would be great! Thanks
p.s. I have more pictures on my other computer and will put them up later!
Wow..it sounds like you are having a wonderful time at your winter barn. How old is Gallahad? What kind of stuff are you going to do with him? how tall is he? Its really cool that you get to work with him. Im looking forword to hear more about him when we chat online next time.
Gallahad is 6 years old, he free jumps 3', though i've never free lunged him. He has some mounting issues so we're going to work on that before I do much with him, Apparently once you get on him he's fantastic, just getting on is the challenge. I want to do some dressage training with him this winter and show him first level in the spring.
Is gray a color that is common in shire horses? I don't know. He looks more like a percheron cross to me. Like maybe a cross with a smaller breed horse like QH or TB maybe. How tall is he?
Could you please put some pics up of him moving, like walk trot and canter? Different breeds have different movement. From looking at him I'd say Percheron, Shire and TB or QH.
