New Zealand Hike! + A few pics of Sky

Here's some NZ pics..

Crossing a bridge on our hike :)

It was a strange park, this kind of ended the foresty part of it and it turned into a paved lawn area.

Sheep!

More sheep :)

And pics of Sky. He's looking kind of off to me, but maybe it's due to the shedding. What do you think? And I'll get them to fix his halter.

What part of NZ are you in? Beautiful scenery, I always forget how stunning this country is until I get out of the city and explore it :)

All the way down in Wellington I'm afraid! I gotta do some serious driving to see some countryside

I forget the name of the park.. it begins with a K but that's not very helpful. I'll find out for ya :) They had people skinny dipping in the stream there!

I'm down further, in Christchurch! It's so beautiful... and I'm pretty sure I know which park you're referring to, though don't ask me to remember the spelling haha! Skinny dipping in this climate?! Brrr! Feels like winter is certainly on it's way now, at least down here! Though it goes to show the laidback nature of kiwis I guess - though you wouldn't catch me out there haha!

i swear i've been to that park! Probably not, you know, but it certainly looks like a place I remember in NZ.

Beautiful scenery. Looks much like where I live.

Is that the normal location to attach Sky's side reins? Looks low. But, I dont' use them so don't know much about their correct usage.

It's a nice park! It has a swinging bridge and then one made of concrete.. sheesh I'm spacing on the name though! I'm tempted to drive there just to read the sign haha!

Christchurch is gorgeous I've heard! Sorry about those Earthquakes though :( I heard that left everyone in a poor place.

My instructor prefers his side reins by his elbows. If we had a surcingle it'd be easier to explain but basically they can go in between the horse's legs, by his elbows, halfway up the girth, and clipped to the D rings on the pommel. It depends on which muscles you want to work. Personally I like to keep them loose enough so he can't lean on them but long enough that he can still feel the contact.

Beautiful! Looks like you had a great time.

I am married to a New Zealander (he's from Nelson) and have visited/explored both islands on a few occasions. I'd love to ride there one day. My in-laws are always bugging us to move to NZ.
