Alright, I was asked to keep everyone updated on Noah's progress so here's a picture of our roundpen work this week! I really think he did well. He's really starting to use his hind end the way I want, and he's getting much more confident under saddle. We have him entered in an open show in December, and I'm very excited to see how he'll do. We'll just be doing flat classes for now, but I eventually want to have one of my more advanced riders take him for a spin in a hunters class or two.
We're still working on weight. He's gained ten pounds this month, not what I was hoping, but it's something! ^^
And some 'no hands' work. When I dropped the contact at first, he was a bit nervouse, but soon calmed down and got to work ^^
I'm so proud of how far he's come. When I first started working with him, he was extremely tense and edgy, and now he takes the time to enjoy himself. He still isn't flexing his neck exactly how I want, but we have time to work. He's only been off of the track for about ten months, and training for the past eight; so I'm very happy with where he is.
Gigem- no, this one is just a little local show at Fincastle Stables. Somerset is about three hours away, and I didn't really want to put him through the stress of hauling that far or boarding there for the weekend on his very first show, so I opted for one that's only about fifteen minutes away. I believe it's that same weekend though.
Red Gate Farm- well you never know when it's going to jump at you and try to rip your face off! I do have to say that he's come quite far though with his photo manners. He used to give me the ugliest looks when he passed...
(its going to get me, its going to get me, its going to get me :O)
Csimkunas6 - I definitely will, and I'll probably be swamping y'all with pictures! XD
