Our first dressage schooling show!!

So we hauled to Ohio and went to our first dressage schooling show. Buzz and I are starting from scratch and entered Intro Senior, cause I haven't shwon in 6 years, been training greenies and he's never shown though he was professionally trained. We did three classes. Our scores were 46%, 48% and 62%. We placed 3rd, 2nd, and 1st respectively!!!!

Anyway, I wanted to share a couple of pics. Yep, his noseband is crooked but I fixed it when we got to the arena. And excuse my frumpiness post-show, I was all kinds of out of sorts by then haha.

I had to share! I'm so proud of Buzz!

Oh absolutely!!! I'm hooked! I love dressage now! I hated it when I was eventing, and stadium jumping has always been my thing (competed to 3'6 til I moved here).

But I have found a huge improvement in my seat since taking lessons and after the schooling show today - I love the challenge! I love the idea that we're competing against ourselves. Does that make sense? Like - my best score today was 62%, which I'm told is a good score (I might be wrong they may have been trying to make me feel less nervous), but our worst score was 46%. At the next show in a month - I want us to improve on that as much as possible.

Does that make sense?

Makes complete sense. I love dressage as well, it can be so much fn and is the foundation of so many other things, like jumping and is even god for western horses. I love watching dressage vidoes, and going to dressage shows nad just watching casue you can learn so much from the rides and see things that you want to do, also helps you learn tests. I cant wiat for this summer and my 3 year old who will be 4 will be in her 1 few dressage shows! I will most likley have my trainer ride her in the first ones.
