Our first hack :)

I took my OTTB out for his first ride outside the arena since he arrived (which was a week at the time).

He did SO well, he lead the group of 4 horses the whole way except when my friend's 20 year old TB mare outpaced him! lol! Nothing worried him and we had cars, bicycles, people, other horses, ATVs and even dogs at fences barking.

Just a small picture to share! Just love him to death!

That's wonderful!

Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says, "Oh crap, she's up!".

Thanks he is doing great. He went out again yesterday evening. I found his competitive streak came out in him! As soon as a horse in front of him trots the race is on! Even if they arent riding with us. But he doesnt get stupid, calms down straight away when asked to.

I know OTTBs can have a bad reputation when they come off the track but he has such a level head :) Makes me feel very safe!

He is still doing so well. Yesterday was the first time he gave me "trouble" and by trouble I mean that he kept stopping and looking at things and not wanting to walk forward. But it was VERY windy and I think things just looked scarier than they were. On the way home he worked at a nice trot all the way home.

He is just amazing! This week we start a bit of arena work and a weekend hack.
