Yeah, the front of the pasture and the path to the barn is solid. We have a roundbale out for them up toward the front by the gate. It's not horribly inconvenient because the horses RARELY go to the parts of the field that have flooded during the winter time (no grass, and we keep the hay up front). My horse decided it was good drinking water... haha. There were ducks on it when I got there. I've never seen it flood like this, and we've had some pretty bad rains!

Northern Kentucky. The water isn't stagnant, so it's okay. All of them drink it. It fell the day before that photo was taken and then it rained again today. I wouldn't really say I "encouraged" drinking it either, as even when she's turned out she's over there slurping it up. Yet she won't drink out of her heated bucket... horses are weird.
