Yep, I'm going to have to say Photoshop, as well.

Elements is a good choice to get started. As your skill progresses and you want to do more advanced editing, you'll want to look at Photoshop CS5.

Of course, the difference between Photshop Elements 8 and Photoshop CS5 is $600. I suspect you'll be able to get by with elements for quite some time.

I have CS5 and I love it. However, there are a lot of things I don't use, mainly because I don't know how :\ I think its super advanced, but I still like it and im getting used to it slowly (:

I have Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI and all I've ever used is Corel. It used to be owned by some other company and was much better then. Mine suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago. I'm getting this runtime error. I looked it up and found so many people had this problem and I could find any solutions that worked for me. I did read that it happens a lot with Corel and they aren't very trusty. I just downloaded a Adobe Photo Shop Elements 8 for a 30 day trial. I am considering purchasing it now as it seems to work pretty good! Both Corel and Adobe have 30 day trials if you really want to see everything for yourself.
