In celebration of the farrier's appearance, I walked him down to the local horseman's park this morning to get some turnout in an empty arena. He was on a loose lead there and back, no acting up like he has in the past.
He does have a tendency to want to walk behind me though when he gets nervous. Silly boy.
He ran around for a few minutes, rolled, farted, and then started whining/pacing to be let out (he's so out of shape, lol), so I decided this was enough for today and took him home to get sponged down and graze a little. I have been taking him to as many strange places as possible, to get him accustomed to being comfortable in new situations and keeping his head, as in the future we will be doing a lot of horse trekking on the coast and hopefully in a few nearby national parks. He is doing wonderfully
and is such an affectionate and kind horse. Never ceases to amaze me. The hard work is truly paying off. On Sat, he'll be going to my trainer's arena where he'll also get to run a bit and then have some more ground work lessons. So hopefully more pics then. Yay, more pics!
One of these days...I will have an awesome camera and moar skillz. For now, these will have to do...
(Rolling means a lot to this dude)
And one from the other day:
Hope you enjoyed. :)
