I hate when people assume the horse isn't trained or well behaved because it has a stud chain over it's nose. The main lead rope I used on all of my horses is a stud chain, not because all of them need it, it's just the one I usually grab out of habit. And if you do need it you don't have to fiddle with changing leads and it's there when the horse acts up. I usually through the lead over my shoulder and just let them fallow me but when they act up it's there. Makes sense to me anyway

Exactly! Cheyenne follows me around without a lead, even with major distractions around. Plus, it's very good for the desensitizing work we are doing. And like you said, it's there if she decides to act like the 5 year old mare that she is :P no harm done
