Pictures like this PRICELESS

Take one older, scared overweight rider, get her, for some reason she can't understand, to go and look and then buy, an Appaloosa, and one that is rated for experienced rider only. Wait a few years and a few ups and downs and waht do you get?

You get a still older, but thinner and a lot braver woman, who takes said spotty horse and her new Arab mare to a show, and after spending the morning thinking of reasons not to go, and feeling sick, but we wnent along.

We all survived the day, and we had fun. well I did, I hope the ponies did as well. It was a long hard day though, man that was a lot of riding.
How did we do? Well we had moments of pure harmony where I felt just great, and moments of pure farce, like taking the wrong course in one dressage test

The star of the day was Mr G, who blew everyone away, he is a total crowd ho, and the judge just loved him, comments like "Awesome movement" and I got "great smile" when riding him, he got 3 "beautiful movement" comments as well. He then went on to jump 2 clear rounds and one 4 fault round. Mr G is going to convert to English, he just rode so well in the English saddle.
OK, only a couple of pics at the show

Here is Mr G's complete collection

He won the Walk Trot senior A test, then picked up good marks in his other tests, and also ribbons for his jumping.

Then here is Ace's haul for the day, she won the senior and open walk trot B test, and got ribbons for good marks on the other tests.

test names?

Hi,
Congrats on your ribbon haul. I am always glad to see other overweight (well, formerly in your case) middle aged women going out there and just doin' it.
I have a question. I don't understand what "Senior Walk/trot A" means.
I only do dressage and we only , Intro A and B, Training 1,2,3,4, and 1st level and on and on. These are the tests made by the FEI or whatever those bigwigs call themselves.
Is your test something from eventing?
I also ride an appy. Is yours full appy? He looks like part draft.

The tests we are using are the CADORA ones, found here I don't understand all the politics up here at the moment, but there are restrictions on using the tests through Equine Canada. I just practice and ride the tests that are on the list LOL.

Appy Gilmore is a grade, I'm not sure of his lines, but there has to be draft in him, we're thinking Percheron. He is a big solid boy for sure.
