Poor Lucy

Lucy is a rescue horse and I am in desperate need to find
Her a good home. This is her story. My grandpa rescued her
from a persons house, the man that owned her could no
longer take care of her and went into the nursing home.
The kids in the neighborhood ABUSED her, throwing rocks
and hitting her in the head with big sticks. Due to two years
Of this abuse the mare is really distant around people, when
We first got her we couldn't get in two feet of her, now she has
gained my husbands trust and he can pet her. This mare is
Gaited and has been broken to ride in the past, she just needs
a friend to gain her trust back.The reason I am desperate to
Find her a new home is because my grandpa is going to take
Her to the horse slaughter sale, and she hasn't even been
Given a chance to be worked with to gentle her up!

How old is she? She has a very sweet face. I wish I could take her, but I'm all the way in CA. I hope you find her a good home and everything works out!

I really hope you can find her a home...she looks so sweet, poor thing. :( I'm so glad you at least made her more comfy with being around people (like you).

What a kind eye she has.... but goodness she needs some weight! Good on you, your hubby, and grandpa for taking her in... it re-affirms that there are good people out there.. not just people that let horses get like that.
