Here are some recent photos of Caddo my 7 month old stud colt. I took pictures of him right after we brought our horses in from the back pasture. It was raining as we were bringing them to the barn. Hope you enjoy these pics.
My avatar is when he was just a day old. He has changed so much since that day. He hasn't changed in his sweet personality though. He is out of my paint stud and my favorite mare that I no longer have. I gave his dam to a friend of mine even when she was preggo with him. They told me that they didn't want the foal so I said alright I get the foal when it is born. He was the resulting foal. I personally think that he is the best foal so far that my stud has produced.
I am not sure. I have been offered money for him. I might sell him but if not I plan on making him possibly a show horse but more importantly my riding horse if I keep him. I can already pick up his feet and clean them out with the hoof pick. He nickers every time that he sees me. I love him so much. I might have to get rid of him though after Wednesday. My son had a biopsy done we find out the results on Wednesday. Not sure. If he was your horse what would you do with him?
I bet it would be hard to let him go :(
I understand the reason you may have to completely though..
I would actually have to know his personality to decide completely.
How he moves, temperment, build.
I actually agree with you though.
You obviously know him better.
I actually like to show my horses, and also have them as my riding horse.
Just my opinion (not trying to start an arguement by no means)
I'm not a big fan of stalling my horse, and only seeing him on show days.
I mean the horse sees the trailer-show-trailer-stall.
I like doing all sorts of things with my horses not just one thing.
Yeah right now all of my horses are stalled up. Waiting for better weather to let them out again. It has been getting into the 20's here at night. I will set them back outside tomorrow. He moves really well. If I keep him I will probably turn him into a barrel horse. His dam I only did the barrels at home the few times I timed her she was doing them in the high 14 second range. Caddo loves to run even now. Time will tell though. Right now I am trying to train my 3 year old filly out of my stud for show. She is just the opposite of him she is very slow and only likes to walk or trot to most places. He thinks that she is his mom I think because where she is you will also find him. She doesn't mind at all. I have to agree I like doing all kinds of things with my horses. I am thinking about doing in hand trail with him and maybe halter with him next year.
