    Rescued horse from action

Our neighbour gets a horse every year for deer hunting season then sells them when the hunt is over. We never really talked to them till a few months ago so I never was aware of him doing this since he always left the horses at his dads house. This year he told us that he got a paint that was a very good horse, but he didnt want to feed it all winter and he was going to take her to the auction. I was told by many people around here that any horses that didnt sell at the auction where trucked to NM then from there they went to Mexico where they were then killed. I couldnt see this horse go there so we went to look at her when we got there it was very clear she was not cared for on the 8 day hunting trip. She was limping from being in the mountains with no shoes, saddle sores and sores from a breast collar, she was in the trailer with another horse and was kicked multiple times one being in her front leg that has a good gash in it. I was so pissed when I saw the state she was in that I told my husband we need to help her so we talked to the guy and he said we could have her for $400. She was brought home 2 days later she is such a sweet horse, but needs alot of TLC here is a pic of her. She don't have a name so I am looking for a name that fits her sweet nature and situation of being a fighter.

That actually looks like a pretty nice little mare. Loads of potential there.

A rough and tough gal like that deserves a tough, wildernessy name, I think! ;P

    Riyan
    Valley
    Witness
    Song
    Cicada
    Canvas (because of her coloring)
Andee ( a pet form of the name Andria; which means Warrior )
Bellatrix ( a bit fancy for her, but she could go by Bell or Trick. Means Warrior-like)
    Ildi/Ildiko (hungerian, warrior)
    Amari (African; 'strong')

She's beautiful, bless you for rescuing her. How about Angel, Hope, Faith or Destiny for a name? Please keep us updated on her progress.
