I've had her back from the trainer for nearly a month now, and I can't believe how far she's come in that time! I had sent her for a month to get her back into work, get out on the trails and get a firm foundation - so no collection or real bending, just getting her out and keeping her moving (she can have what I call a 'sticky foot' problem, where if she's unsure she just doesn't go). The backstory is I bought her the end of April, had her at my friend's place for one month and then off to the trainer. She spent the previous 9 years as a lawn ornament, but does have a good solid foundation.
If you saw pics of us from our first ride together one month ago you wouldn't even believe we are the same horse/rider combination .
Thanks so much guys! I'm so lucky to have her - she wants to work and please, so once she figures her job out she's a dream. My jumping saddle should be getting here soon so we can start on our way to being kick butt eventers :).
