so, I thought I'd share some pics of Uma and I getting in our first ride of 2010. As I do not have an indoor (or an enclosed arena at all) we were riding in the 14 degree Kansas weather with the quarter sheet on. haha. Yes, she does have a blanket rub on her left shoulder, she now has a shoulder guard on to prevent further rubbing. It just took me forever to find the darn thing!

Enjoy!

Gillian- yeah it was freezing!

Honeysuga- yeah I know in some of the photos she is behind the vertical. However, this is the hardest horse to ride. Period. So, her having a good attitude today was all that really mattered to me :D As a coming 8 year old with major breaks in her training, she is probably more like a 5 year old and is still trying to figure out where her body is. And, dressage is definitely not her strong suit or something she enjoys.

Thanks MIEventer! Yeah I absolutely LOVE my quarter sheet. I got it in a set with a cooler for Ginisee when we were competing but the quarter sheet fits Uma much better than it ever fit Gin.

I love Uma's shoulder guard. It has helped keep her from getting more of a rub when it is too cold to get a break from her blanket. I love the "Jammies" brand. I've had those for years.

Thanks guys!

My2Geldings- yeah, I'm sad to see her go but this isn't the first time I've actively marketed her. She is a very, very, VERY hard horse to ride and with me being 5'2" and her being 17hh, she's just a bit much for me on the flat. She's wonderful when jumping though! I will never, ever ride a better jumper. She's as good as it gets! She's freakishly talented on XC and in SJ so I hope some advanced/professional will see that and take her a long way.

1dog- haha I had to get like, the biggest size there was for Uma. lol. Her chest is appropriate for her body but I've never had such a big horse!

MIEventer- good to know :) I will be actively marketing her in the spring as my mom doesn't want to market her now (?). The lease situation didn't work out so I will let you know when she is officially for sale. :)
