Default Rockin' the hay gut...

And I love the way she's not ashamed!!!!

hahahahah. Alright. Here are some updated pictures of Cricket. She's just getting her winter coat in and she's a fuzzy wuzzy pony <3

Okay so these are the first day we brought her home. I know y'all have probably seen them a million times but I'm just so proud of how fat she's getting.

Okay and here she is as of yesterday =D

I'm happy with how far she's coming not just on her weight but also in her training. We took off riding for a while because her ground manners were insanely horrible. My trainer called me the other night and she goes "Have you been on craigslist recently??" I explained that I hadn't and what I needed to look up and she told me about a lady in Romona and now in Lakeside who is supposedly stealing horses and reselling them. They're mostly emaciated, and she claims they are rescues. She has six counts of animal neglect on her from the SPCA and on their site you can read about how she starves her horses. She also sells green horses as amazingly trained. Her exercise rider is supposedly in trouble for fraud as well.

Well, I was wondering what all of this had to do with me... And then she told me that this was the lady she got me Cricket from. It explains everything. How her papers were "lost" and she had no information on her except that she's six and an Appendix. Anyone could figure that out. It explains how she didn't know the horse didn't load. It explains how really "untrained" my horse is. And now I feel really sorry for feeling so frusterated with my poor mare. I feel bad that the thought of resell came into my mind.

I'm happy with mine and my trainers decision though. And I love my girl very much even though I know we have alot to work on ;). I'm up for the challenge!

Love you, Scrooge! <3 <3

Cricket has come a long way. She looks great!
I'm sorry to hear about that woman neglecting green horses and selling them as "trained". Now that she caught the SPCA's attention I hope the horses she did own up until that point make a full recovery and go to great homes.

First, Cricket looks much better and it seems you are doing really well with her but I have to wonder if she came from this lady who was stealing horses somewhere out there Cricket may have an owner looking for her.

That's actually the first thing I wondered myself. She claimed that she got Cricket from her friend.

I've posted some adds around on craigslist and locally around some of the feed stores and am seeing if I get any response.

I first thought "Oh my gosh! She's some little girls pony and she's probably out looking for her right now!!!" and I felt like crap for a few days. But then I realized that the chances of her being a childrens pony is slim to none, but there is a possability that theres someone looking for her if she is stolen. So we'll just have to wait and see.

In a way, I hope she doesn't have an owner looking for her. She is clearly happy with you and getting better care and training than she had gotten in a long time. She is filling out wonderfully. Winter woolies? What winter woolies? LOL.
