    Rode a friends horse

Well, Christy is still barn sour, and I haven't had enough time to really work with her, so... My friend let me ride one of her horses. He is a 15 yr. Old arab mix, probably 1/2 arab and 1/2 qh, but she doesn't really know.

I don't like the bit, but he isn't my horse... Only the saddle and pad are mine, the rest of the tack belongs to my friend. These were taken by my friend on a cell phone so the quality is not great! Anyway, I thought I would share. :)

    Dusty and me!

Great pic of the horse... Not so great of me, LOL!

Excuse the rein/hand position, I was working on teaching him to neck rein. He is quite stubborn on that issue!

What's wrong with your hands? Nothing, as far as I can see. You're schooling, after all, and they appear to be nice and light.

What's the bit? Looks like a mechanical hackamore to me...

Did you have fun? Looks like you did by the smile on your face

I was having lots of fun!
I guess it didn't show in the pics. I had my left hand over across the midline jiggling the left rein against his neck as I pulled on the right rein on one of the pics.
I like full check snaffle bits. I think this is the bit he had, or at least a similar one. He goes ok in a snaffle. My friend just thought this was a cool bit. And she got it on sale very cheap...

It's a correction bit, and Dusty doesn't need a correction bit. He kept trying to put the shank in his mouth. Silly boy. I tried very hard not to pull, just give a light tug.
