Sage Pictures (Still Sick But Hopefully Improving)

Hi everyone. Sage update again. She was on 10 days of antibiotics for her cough and snotty nose. Last thursday was her last day. Friday I had errands to run and Saturday was a cutting. Sunday I planned on riding. I pulled her out tied her up and brushed her really good. She is shedding and the rubber curry comb did wonders. After that I was going to put her in the round pen to run a little bit since the arena was being used. I put her in the round pend got my camera and came back to snot. I wanted to see what would happen if I moved her a little. Not even two laps at a trot and snot came running out of her nose. I stopped her and decided I wouldn't ride or even work her. She tried to use me as a human snot rag. It was gross. I brushed her out even more and took lots of pictures. I was going to contact a vet the next day.

I got ahold of the vet and she said bring her in that morning. I get her in and we tranq her. I noticed that the area of her sinuses was a little swollen when we unloaded. The vet decided to check her teeth since she is coming three and should be losing her caps. Her tech wasn't there so I got to help hold her tongue. haha Her teeth were very sharp and her caps of course are in the process of coming off. We also noticed that the new teeth are coming in a little bit to the outside. Decided to go ahead and float her teeth. She also had a wolf tooth that we pulled and one cap that was loose while in there. She assured me that the knots on her jaw bone were teeth moving because I was very concerned over that since its very noticable.

The vet thinks that the snotty nose could be sinus infection due to the teeth moving. She is on even higher dose of antibiotics for ten days. On the the seventh day if I don't see huge improvements I have to get ahold of another vet with an x-ray machine. He will have to x-ray her jaw and see how her teeth are coming in. Yay for big vet bills. haha So these are the pictures I took over the weekend. Wish I had brought my camera to the vets. It never crossed my mind. haha Caution: Picture of her teeth on second post, last picture.

Artistic View.

Big Butt And Thick Tail.

Don't Know Why I Like This Picture Even Though I Purposely Focused On Her Leg.

Her Teeth. Caps And Wolf Tooth On The Right.

Wow she really is a beautiful Grulla mare! Hope you and her feel better soon. I know how disheartening it can be when our best friends are feeling not so good : )

Thank you. She is my baby. I'm quite bias of her. lol I love all the dun factor she has.

I actually have no idea where I got the halter. I'm not a big fan of purple so I know I didn't pick it out. lol It does look good on her though. I just use it cause its quick an easy.

I also like the halter! But then I do like purple, and I use it on my grulla! It's a great color for her!

She is so beautiful. I hope she feels better real soon.

Gypsy gold does not chink and glitter. It gleams in the sun and neighs in the dark
