He placed really well and everybody was asking questions about his size. He fell asleep in halter but his forward movement in the riding classes was amazing. He remembers all the hunter training I worked on before I sold him in hopes to put him in dressage. That might actually happen this time around! He's still healing in his hooves but he's completely sound and his nasty split should be grown out by spring time!
His teeth were recently done and sadly my vet noticed he had abscessed a tooth and lost a major molar. He said it was something that would have been easily noticed and the pain Sam probably experienced would have been helped with medication had the lady I sold him to bothered to float his teeth. Besides that he's coming up on his weight and just hit 1700lbs even though our goal is 1900 on the low end. He's on alfalfa hay, strategy GX grain, and beet pulp. The grain and beet pulp is soaked so he's not dropping so much of it back into the bucket but he's been putting on the weight great!
Anyway here's some pictures. I also had some taken on my birthday (09/24) and I'll share those as well.
