    On saturday Phoenix moved house...

So I thought i'd start a thread for my boy to track his progress as he starts his new job as a trail horse/ lower level (intro) dressage horse.

We only moved a mile down the road but it looks like a completely different place, more trees and less fattening grass We're right next to the local metro park with miles of trails right on our doorstep.

    So without further waffle...

His last photo at his old barn, all clean and pretty ready for the journey:

He got into the trailer without any complaint once he saw I was inside and hadn't been eaten. Then we were off.

1 mile down the road he got off, sweaty and looking like he hadn't had a bath (no photos of this bit, sorry, my camera was in the car)

In his new stall, very nice (my lovely friend bought him a sparkly new halter for his journey). He was a little freaked out but calmed right down once he'd had a good brushing and eaten some carrots and done some stretching exercises.

Today he went out with his new herd for the first time and I was told there was only a little bit of drama but other than that it went well. He really wants to be friends with the horses at the new place, but some of them aren't going for it yet.

At least all this running and exercise is good for him, and in his new place he looks pretty snazzy :)

    Thanks!!

I was told he's installed himself near the top of the herd which is good. He's gotten a few good nips on his back and rump but nothing too serious just yet.
